It has a generator and light tower which are definitely needed where there is no lighting system. It also has a ventilating system essential for suppressing basement fires.
Pumper Truck
Its primary purpose is firefighting and every 119 Safety Center has 1 or 2 pumpers. It is staffed by 4~5 firefighters. Firefighting is not a simple procedure and that’s why it carries not only water but also about 200 items of equipment including firefighting tools like foam chemicals, a ladder, cutters, lighting equipment and rescue/safety equipment like fire suits, breathing apparatus.
Tower Ladders
Their sizes and functions are a bit different but mainly used for high rise building fires. Now we have a 52-meter high tower ladder, which can reach 15th floor of buildings. They were introduced after Daeyeongak Hotel fire.
Tiller Ladder
It’s used for fires on apartment buildings or high rise buildings, where a normal truck is not available to approach. There are a few kinds of them such as 24, 27, 35 meters long ladders. They have waterproof cloth in their baskets so that firefighters easily suppress fire on high-rise structure.
Tanker Truck
A fire appliance transporting large amounts of water to pumpers and ladder trucks to make it available for extinguishing operations.
Hydraulic Platform
It carries 50 items of equipment including hydraulic spreaders and cutters to support operations
Ambulance
it carries out emergency treatment and patient transport. It is equipped with ventilators, emergency medicine and radio telephones.
High Performance Chemical Truck
It’s equipped with foam and powder effective for firefighting in chemical zones and big inflammables storage areas.
Smoke Exhaust Truck
It supports prompt fire suppression in an enclosed space like basements.
Helicopter
It’s used for rescue, fire suppression, air-ground operation conducting, aerial fire transport, evacuation guidance, aviation broadcast.
Fireboat
Covering the area from the upper region of Cheongpyeong Dam to Hongcheon River, Gangwon-do, it is used for rescue and fire suppression on water, emergency treatment and patient transport, patrols, fire prevention campaigns. It has the equipment for the perfect rescue and relief activities on water as well as its cutting-edge navigation system.

For Water Rescue
Buoyancy compensator
generally used by divers to establish neutral buoyancy underwater and positive buoyancy on the surface, when rest needed, so that they can rescue themselves in emergency.
Snorkel
used for breathing air on or from above the water surface. By this, divers can take a rest, save the air in their container, and observe underwater while swimming easily on the surface.
Dive Knife
used to cut a rope or obstructions underwater.
Gauge
It generally consists of a manometer, a depth gauge and a compass indicating the amount of air remaining, depth and bearing.
Regulator
reduces pressurized breathing gas to ambient pressure(about 6~10bar) and delivers it to the diver. It’s connected to a buoyancy compensator and a gauge through high/low pressure ports.
Flippers
They aid movement through the water during underwater diving.
Diving Suit
protects divers from body heat loss, wounds underwater. It also activates buoyancy in emergency.
