Responsibility for Human Disaster Management was transferred from the Transportation & Road Bureau to the Fire & Disaster Headquarters as of July 3rd, 2008. For this reason, the Disaster Safety Team was established in the Disaster Response Department.
The Disaster Safety Team is composed of 3 firefighter and 9 professional contracted officials (4 architects, 2 civil engineers, 1 mechanic, 1 electrician and 1 chemical engineer).
Our major task is to promote safety awareness campaigns based upon the Disaster Management Act and Safety Management Plan.
We also carry out free year-round safety checks of potential-risk facilities such as homes, embankments, retaining walls and so on.
